Dr. Melzer provides a strong medical perspective to the Biophan management team. He has co-invented more than 90 patents and has co-authored over 150 publications/presentations, and is assistant editor and reviewer for various medical journals. In addition to his position as CTO and CEO of Biophan Europe GmbH, Dr. Melzer holds the chair of Medical Technology at University Dundee; he is head of the Division and Director of the Institute for Medical Science and Technology (IMSaT), a joint venture with University of St. Andrews, Scotland. Dr. Melzer is engaged as co-organizer, chairman, and invited speaker for various medical conferences (SMIT, EAES, CIRSE, DGBMT DGE-BV), and is a board member of several medical societies (EAES, SMIT,  DGBMT, DGE-BV) and professional committees (ASTM, DIN, GMM, VDE). He is also engaged in the Corporate Research and Development Agreement of Biophan with the FDA on the MR-EM safety of leads of Cardiac Rhythm Management and Neurostimulation Devices (see www.biophan.com).
